As usual I was having a hard time picking an outfit for today and all I could think about was wearing something comfortable yet still looking trendy and put together. I chose these simple and basic pieces of clothing that everyone has and threw on a blanket scarf which made a HUGE difference. It completed the look perfectly and made it seem like I put so much effort into my outfit when really I just threw it on. I hope you all love this outfit just as much as I do!! What I got for my 16th Birthday! | RoshelleAndAlyssa

Hi guys! So my 16th birthday was last week so I thought I would share what I got on this special day. I had an amazing birthday! I started off waking up at camp but got home to a surprise party with all my closest friends and my boyfriend. Then, my boyfriend and I went to the hockey game! Such a perfect day for me. I am so happy and thankful that I have another year to work on myself, and radiate as much love and positivity as possible! Anyways, I thought I would share all the goodies I got on this special day. In no way, shape or form am I bragging in any way.. I am beyond thankful for everything beyond the presents. Enough rambling from me, time to see what I got for my sweet 16!

From my mom, I got this diamond mosaic blanket scarf from Aritzia. I've been wanting one of these for so long but contemplated on getting it because it was super pricey and summer was coming but I thought it was a good investment because I live in Canada where it is cold most of the time. I love the colours on this scarf and think they are so spring-ish too! It's also wearable in so many different ways and so comfy and soft. It makes an outfit look even more amazing and I really like it!

From my boyfriend, I got the perfume I've been lusting over for such a long time which is Roses de Chloe. It smells like roses which is my favourite and I just absolutely love it. I'm really bad at describing scents so definitely check out the notes on this on Sephora's website. The packaging is so cute too! It has a really pretty pink ribbon tied around it and is pink! I love it. 

He also got me the Nars Dual Intensity blush in frenzy! I wasn't expecting this at all but when I saw it I just fell in love. I usually don't gravitate towards an orange toned blush but when you apply it to the skin, it adds such a soft focus effect and looks so natural. The highlight in the compact is like a golden champagne and it looks so pretty on the skin! Swirling these two shades gives the cheeks such a beautiful and natural looking flush. At first it was hard to work with the product as I had to experiment with it a little, but I found using a denser soft bristled brush gives the most beautiful application. So glad I got this!

From one of my friends I got two really amazing eye brow products! One of them is the Anastasia brow wiz in dark brown which I had around this time last year. Alyssa got it for my birthday last year. I remember really liking it and I still don't know why I didn't repurchase it. Anyways, I've been using this for my brows and I fell back in love with it. It's so good at making your eyebrows look so full while still looking natural. The other product that I got was the Anastasia dip brow in dark brown as well. I used this while I was in Hawaii a couple weeks ago (I borrowed it from my friend!) and I really liked how waterproof this was and how budge proof it was. Especially because I was always swimming, greasy because of tanning oil and sweating because of how hot it was my eyebrows still looked good! I really like this product!

From my student I got this really pretty lipstick from Mac called Ladybug. When I first opened this, I was shocked because I don't usually wear reds. I just never felt comfortable wearing them so I didn't think I was going to use this that much. When I was thinking about who to give it to, I read the label and it said lustre. So immediately, I swatched it and the colour was so gorgeous. I applied it on my lips and it looks AMAZING! It's sheer enough that it looks like you've just been eating a red popsicle. It also looks like how your lips look when you just stand out on a cold winter day. It's so pretty and definitely buildable enough that you can also get away with a full red lip.

                                         

And finally... from Alyssa, I got the Nars Audacious lipstick in Anita. I've been wanting this lipstick for so long. I remember applying this over Mac's Soar lip pencil and LOVING IT. This has quickly become my favourite lipstick! The formula is spot on and it looks so pretty. So obsessed!!!! She also got me the Urban Decay lip 24/7 Glide on lip pencil in Liar. I've never tried anything Urban Decay other than their eyeshadows which I love, so I was excited for this. It is so buttery, creamy and very pigemented (might be a little more creamy than the Mac ones!). Liar is a brown-pink/nude shade. It looks good with Anita, velvet teddy from Mac and my Ysl lipstick in #9. I'm definitely gonna experiment with other lipsticks too but even this on its own is so pretty! And for those of you wondering yes it is creamy enough and opaque enough to wear on its own!

I'm so thankful for another year of life and for everything that I have and everyone around me. I'm excited to make being sixteen the best yet, which is hard to top because being 15 was pretty damn amazing! Radiate love and be thankful for everything. I am a big believer in keeping my hair healthy and strong. I have always been a huge fan of using drugstore products to help with this and these are a few of my favourite products. These products are ones I have used over long periods of time and ones I genuinely love. Be sure to check them out next time you are at your local drugstore!

Loreal Paris Re-Nutrition Nourishing Cream Care
This product is amazing to use when your hair is feeling very dry and rough. It has a very moisturizing formula and is perfect for daily use. Over time it restores hair's suppleness and is overall a great product. It smells nice and is very inexpensive.

Tresemme Fresh Start Refreshing Mist
We all have those days when we are too lazy to wash our hair... but who cares when we have this! This mist is used as a dry shampoo and removes odour and excess shine. It also gives an appropriate amount of smoothness and volume all while feeling lightweight. This product leaves you feeling fresh and clean due to its citrus scent.

BaByliss PRO Argan Oil Thermal Shine Spray
This is one of my all time favourite hair products. Unfortunately this product is difficult to find but is definitely worth looking for. This product smells wonderful like coconuts and oil. It gives your hair a natural amount of silkiness and shine as well as protects your hair from any heat damage. It is a very lightweight product and can be used for a number of things. I just love the smell and how shiny and smooth my hair looks after using this.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Treatment Conditioner
Okay so right now you are reading about the BEST hair product I have ever tried in my life. This product is a very thick and moisturizing conditioner perfect for those girls with thick and dry hair. Honestly it is beyond amazing.... whenever I use this my hair feels so hydrated and soft. It also smells awesome and is super cheap. You can find this for less than $5 and it lasts for a very long time. Whether you are looking to fix your damaged hair or just want a very moisturizing and powerful conditioner this product needs to be in your life!!

Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Leave in Conditioner
I put this product in my current favourites post for a reason. Every single time I wash my hair this is the product I need to use no matter what. It is a very light leave in conditioner that smells great, detangles and prevents breakage. I have definitely noticed my hair has become a lot softer an stronger since I started using this and I look forward to seeing more results. I bought this product in the States at Ulta and I will for sure repurchase it when I see it again.

Tresemme Split Remedy Split End Leave In Conditioner
I use this product when my hair is extremely dry and damaged. I get a lot of split ends because my hair gets tangled so easily and I often get lazy and brush it roughly. When I notice the ends of my hair are not looking that great I apply this to my hair and it reduces the look of split ends instantly. It eliminates frizz and creates a very soft and smooth look to the ends of my hair. It also comes with a pump which I enjoy very much as it prevents any dirt and bacteria from contaminating the product.

Loreal Paris Total Repair 5 Replenishing Detangling Care
Detanglers are my favourite type of hair products and I buy them very often because they are so useful and help my hair very much. This one in particular detangles damaged hair without weighing it down. It gently, instantly and efficiently repairs hair with Pro-Keratine and Ceramide. Just by spraying on a bit of this you hair will become silky and strong.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray
Heat protectants are definitely very important to have. They help eliminate any damage to your hair due to heat. For example the hot sun's rays or straighteners/curlers. This is a very good quality product similar to ones used in the salon and is meant for keeping your hair smooth and easy to style. So all while protecting your hair from any heat damage it also works to do other fantastic things for your hair. Also your hair looks super shiny and glossy after using this which is always a plus.

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray
I am a huge fan of this brand and it never fails to impress me. This specific spray gives your hair effortless tousled waves and texture without actually having to spend a day at the beach. It has a matte finish and contains dead sea salt and sea kelp. It is also a very long lasting product and is a cheaper dupe for the "Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray" The packaging is cute and this a product that works extremely well.
