30 Lips For 30 Days Challenge (Day 11 and 12) | TheMakeupDiaries

Hello everyone!! Yesterday it was my birthday so I had noo time to upload day 11 of the 30 Lips for 30 Days Challenge. Again, I am going to be combining two days together. Since it was my birthday, I decided to wear my favourite MAC lipstick in the shade Plumful. Plumful is a lustre so it is very sheer yet buildable and very glossy. Of course, this lipstick is also very moisturizing since it is formulated that way. Plumful is a blossoming rose plum and it is very versatile. Its a lipstick that will look good on everyone no matter what. So, I suggest trying it out and purchasing it afterwards! I seriously can't get enough of the colour. It's so gorgeous on it's own and it's such a stunning plum shade! Whenever I go to MAC, it seems that I always pick Plumful up when looking at the testers, which is a sign that I'm drawn to it. I tend to wear this more on special occasions since it is my favourite and I want to keep it in good condition. Today, I decided to go for a quick and easy gloss. I used Stila's lip glaze in Jack Frost. I myself, have six of these lip glaze's and I love them to death. They come in the most adorable shades and are very pigmented. They are also extremely shiny and long lasting but not sticky at all. The formula is absolutely amazing.. no joke. Stila's lip glaze's are my favourite lip glosses, no wonder I have six and they are definitely worth the money! Jack Frost is a beautiful shimmery peach although it looks more orange in the photos below. I hope you enjoy:) Also, keep an eye out for upcoming posts! I'm planning to do a "What I Got For My Birthday" post.. so look forward to that:) xx

SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSSA! | TheMakeupDiaries

Hey guys so I thought that since it's Alyssa's birthday officially in 15 minutes, I would write a blog post to surprise her! I hope she sees this when she wakes up tomorrow morning. I just want to thank her for being an awesome friend, and an amazing person to work with!! It was wonderful starting this journey with Alyssa a couple of months ago. I feel like through this blog we got so much closer and I'm so glad Alyssa stayed in my life! She's a very sweet, genuine, and kind friend who always puts others before herself. She's super generous and instead of her giving something to me it's time for me to finally thank her and give her something to make her smile! Alyssa is one of a kind, and the memories we make together are some of the most fun memories I will never forget. I know that throughout my life I will lose some friends but I know that Alyssa and I will always remain friends, because if how close we are. It's nice knowing that you have someone as kindhearted as Alyssa as one of your best friends, and she's just overall an awesome person. I hope she has an fantastic birthday ❤️ Love you Alyssa!! Everyone go wish her a happy happy birthday!!

30 Lips for 30 Days Challenge (Day 10) | TheMakeupDiaries

I can't believe it's already the 10th day of this challenge!! It's going by so fast, 20 days left. Anyways today, I wanted a really sheer natural lip. I didn't want it to be too dull yet I didn't want it to be too bold as well. I decided to go with a tinted lip balm. Tinted lip balms moisturize, hydrate, nourish and replenish your lips while providing a sheer wash of colour. I chose Maybelline's Baby Lips in Melon Mania. Can I just talk about how cute the packaging is?!?! It's adorable!!!! The packaging is colourful, fun and very eye catching, no one will miss it. These smell fantastic and are super glossy. The formula is also very light and not sticky. Also, it contains a lot of product as well as SPF. Melon Mania is a bright, hot, watermelon pink! It's very vibrant and the colour is beautiful but, it goes on very sheer. When you apply this onto your lips it gives you a nice pink wash perfect for when you want something more settle.

First Impression/Review on L'Oreal Tru Match Lumi Foundation | TheMakeupDiaries

Hello lovelies!! So as you guys know I love my Nars Sheer Glow.. however because it's been so so cold here in Canada, I have gotten even more pale (as I said in an earlier post probably about a whooping 5 shades lighter) so My Nars one didn't match me anymore. So, I scavenged my collection for a lighter foundation and the only one I had was the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation. Except, it was a mini travelsize that came with my How to Look the Best at Everything Benefit kit, so I knew the little mini wouldn't last forever. Not wanting to splurge on another high end foundation, I decided to go with a L'Oreal one after hearing how good they were. Amanda Ensing, who you can watch here, who has a similar skin type/colour as me loves this foundation and talked about it quite a lot and even compared it to her Nars Sheer Glow (Her HG Foundation & mine too!) So I decided why not. It retails for about $14.75 CAD in the drugstore which is pretty expensive for a drugstore foundation but I justified it because I really wanted to try it out and I was desperate for a foundation that matched me. I picked it up in W4, but I was really distressed because it was so hard to see if I was W3 or W4! Oh I hate how you can't test out drugstore foundations. Good thing I got lucky and picked up W4 because its a really good shade match for me. Anyways.. enough with the blabbing.

First Impression:
7:00 a.m- First applied the foundation with ELF Small Stipple brush. Feels lightweight but took a long time to set. Very liquidy but not as liquidy as Nars Sheer Glow. Needed two pumps to cover my entire face. Set it with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as I usually do on my T-Zone. Skin looks good, natural, but the foundation gives it a dewy and radiant look.

12:00 p.m - Looks good but dark hyper pigmentation spots are starting to peep through. it looks super natural but and it looks like my skin is very luminous and super natural but I'm starting to get super oily on my upper and inner nose bridge where my skin hits my glasses. Perhaps its because I'm wearing glasses today.

6:00 p.m: The thing about foundation for me is that I love very dewy, radiant looking foundations and not matte ones, however, dewy and radiant looking foundations usually slip off my face earlier than matte foundations do, but I love the look that dewy foundations give me, that I really don't care. So now, the foundation is pretty much faded, and I reapplied it to see how if it was buildable and holy, it was! It looked like a second layer of skin. My skin feels so refreshed, radiant and natural.

7:30 p.m: After reapplying, my skin still looks amazing and luminous. It honestly looks like second skin, and so natural. I hate how I had to reapply it but my foundation always fades throughout the day as my skin gets oiler than it was at the beginning of the day. But so far so good!

9:15 p.m: Final Update. My skin looks awesome. The foundation feels like second skin and is still looking fresh, radiant and natural which I love. Reapplying it sucked but it was worth it as my skin looked more uplifted and more radiant.

FINAL VERDICT: This foundation is awesome, and for the price I think it's a great dupe for Nars Sheer Glow if your not willing to splurge. The finish it gives is like your skin but better, radiant, natural, glowy, dewy and fresh, which is great for the Winter months when your skin tends to lose moisture and get dry. I would recommend this to everyone except if you have oily skin because it will probably make your oily skin look even more oily. So this foundation gets a 4/5 because I had to reapply it later in the night but other than that the formula, the packaging (THERE IS A PUMP! YES!), and the price are awesome pros for this product. I know I will be enjoying this foundation for a long time!

30 Lips For 30 Days Challenge (Day 9) | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi guys!!! Today is the 9th day of the 30 Lips for 30 Days Challenge! I wore another one of Maybelline's Colour Sensation Colour Whispers!! In the first 30 Lips for 30 Days Challenge, I talked more about the product itself, the formula and why I like it so, in this post I wont be repeating myself. If you would like to know more about this product, check it out!! This lipstick is in the shade Coral Ambition and I would describe it as a warm pink coral. This colour looks great on its own or mixed with another product and I especially like it during the spring time!

Day in the Life: School/Drugstore Makeup/ SNOW?! | TheMakeupDiaries

Hey guys! So I thought I would show you a day in my life.. on a normal regular every day basis! Today it was snowing where I live, and after school I went to the drugstore to pick up a few items. So really all I did was pretty normal.. go to school, and go to my local drugstore. There are some really new cool things at the drugstore. I intended to go to the drugstore to pick up a foundation because my Nars Sheer Glow was getting way to dark for me (I am like 5 shades lighter than I was.. no joke!) so I heard that the L'oreal Tru Match Lumi was a dupe for the Sheer Glow (heard it from Amanda Ensing the Youtuber! Go watch her if you don't already!!) I picked up the L'oreal Tru Match Lumi Foundation in W4 & The L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara which i'll do a review/first impression on right away! Anyways, it snowed where we live and it was freezing cold outside! So all evening up until the moment I am currently writing this, I'm all wrapped up in 2 sweaters, fleece pj's, and fuzzy socks studying for three tests I have tomorrow while eating some chocolate covered blueberries and milk in my cute tumblr! It's really fun to do these "Day in the Life posts" so keep looking out for them! We've done 2 already! I hope your having an awesome morning/afternoon/evening/night whenever you read this :)

Messiest desk of makeup ever...

30 Lips for 30 Days Challenge (Day 7 and 8) | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi guys!! Yesterday I was extremely busy and I was unable to do Day 7 of the 30 Lips for 30 Days Challenge. I decided to combine yesterday and today's post since I used the exact same product. Currently it is snowing and super cold so all I have been using is some Vaseline and my holy grail lip product. As many of you know, this is my Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey lip balm. Often times during the cold season, I prefer to just skip the lipstick, gloss and stain and just use my good old lip balm. My lips tend to get extremely dry and I hate applying product onto my lips while they are like this. So, for the past 2 days I've just been using this product and moisturizing my lips like crazy to prevent them from chapping. This lip balm costs around $3 at the drugstore and is wildly available. This is an amazing deal!! I've repurchased this lip balm soo many times and I will continue to in the future. I have yet to try other Nivea lip balms but I think I'm just going to stick to this one since I'm used to it. As I've mentioned in a few other posts, this lip balm is soothing, moisturizing, nourishing and very hydrating. The formula is very soft and buttery. The scent is very settle and calming which I enjoy very much. Also, my lips are very sensitive and tend to get irritated very easily but my lips never get irritated while I use this product which is a plus for me!! There is so many good things I can say about this and I can't think of anything negative about it. All I have to say is that you NEED to buy it unless you already own and love it like I do!!!

Would You Rather- Beauty Edition! TAG | TheMakeupDiaries

Hey guys, so as I was just looking through some blogs, I came accross one of my favourite bloggers Jen, and she did this tag a long long time ago (you can see it here). I read the questions and thought it would be a super fun tag to do :) xx

QUESTIONS:

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

Roshelle: This is so hard.. but I think I would rather lose my mascaras, lipsticks, eyeliners and lipglosses because out of all 4 categories, I only use eyeliner and lipstick.. and they aren't essential for me. I just love eye shadow so much & I love my palettes!
Alyssa: Of course I love eyeshadows and the palettes I have but, I would choose to loose them all rather than my mascara's, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses. To me, my mascara's, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses are products I use on a daily basis and products I can't live without.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Roshelle: I would rather chop of all my hair and let it grow back! Never being able to cut my hair will be so weird cause it'll probably reach the floor if I didn't!
Alyssa: I would rather chop all of my hair off than never be able to cut it again. I wouldn't want my hair touching the ground.. plus it would be really hard to style.
3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Roshelle: I'm attracted to peach blushes that are a mix of coral and pink so this is a hard one.. I would go with pink! Because there are many types of pink.
Alyssa: I would rather have a pink cheek! I find pink shades look better on me than coral and just like Roshelle said previously, there are many shades of pink!

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Roshelle: THIS IS SO HARD. Can I split it $500 each for both?? If I had to choose one, it'd be clothes.
Alyssa: I am very into fashion, so definitely clothes. As you know, I am a huge fan of makeup obviously.. but, clothes really got me into this whole beauty faze!!!

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Roshelle: This is tough... I would rather use lipstick as an eyeliner and then blend it out so it just looks like I used it to give some colour to my eyes when really I had no choice lol!
Alyssa: Lipstick as eyeliner!! If this ever happened, I would just create a thin line on my upper lash line using the lipstick.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Roshelle: Oh my goodness.... This is a toughy. I would have to say Sephora because they have more brands and they also have skincare, tools, fragrances in addition to makeup.
Alyssa: Don't get me wrong MAC is an amazing brand! It's one of my favourites for sure but, I have to say Sephora. Sephora just has a variety of different products that I can choose from and different brands as well!

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

Roshelle: One lip colour! I usually stick to a comfortable lip colour anyways.
Alyssa: One eye shadow colour! I always stick with the same eyeshadow look anyways and I love playing around with different lip colours.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Roshelle: Even though I would probably be sweating like crazy, I'd rather wear my winter clothes during the summer because if I wore my summer clothes in the Winter where I live.. I would die!
Alyssa: Here in Vancouver Canada, it is very cold during the winter time so, I could never wear my summer clothes during this time! Even though I'd be really hot in my winter clothes during the summer time I would have to choose that!

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Roshelle: I always loved bright pastel colours but recently I've been loving a dark nail colour, so I'll go with a dark colour.
Alyssa: Bright nails!! I'm really attracted to bright nail polishes anyways so throughout the year you'll probably find me wearing brighter colours rather than darker ones.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Roshelle: I would rather give up my favourite eye product because I can't live without vaseline (my afvourite lip product!) I get so bothered if my lips have nothing on them, even if I just have vaseline on.
Alyssa: I would give up my favourite eye product! I often go without using eye products and I never leave anywhere without my lip products! I always keep my Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey lipbalm with me at all times! I can't imagine my life without it.. it moisturizes my lips like no other and it the only lip product that doesn't irritate my lips after a while.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

Roshelle: Messy bun, but since my hair is so short.. my hair can't even go into a messy bun! Lol, so probably a ponytail.
Alyssa: I loove messy buns but I look horrible in them so ponytails for sure!

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Roshelle: I really do neither because I just never have time to put on nail polish and I'm not the biggest fan of lip gloss but I guess I would pick never using lip gloss.
Alyssa: This is such a tough one. I barely am without nail polish on my nails and I always wear lip gloss. I can't choose!!

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

Roshelle: THIS IS MY WORST NIGHTMARE.

Alyssa: I CANT EVEN ANSWER THIS..

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Roshelle: Nail polish! Makeup is just too fun to pass up! And I don't usually paint my nails anyways!
Alyssa: I love both!! But nail polish!! I absolutely cannot live without nail polish it's something I'm too passionate about and love!

Review: Rimmel Apocolips in Big Bang | TheMakeupDiaries

Hey guys! So a couple of months ago I purchased the Rimmel Apocolips in Big Bang and for some odd reason, I put it away in a drawer.. So recently, I was scavenging my drawer and rediscovered this! So I decided to do a review on it for you guys. I picked it up at Walmart for about $6 if I remember correctly and in the U.S It's called Showoffs, but in Canada and the UK, I believe they're both called Apocolips. So let's start with the applicator. It's nice, and a doe foot with a little incision so that you can grab more product instead of putting the brush back in to get more product. The colour is very very bold, as the name indicates. The pigmentation of these lip lacquers are amazing and it's very buildabld. When you first apply it, it has a very opaque and glossy finish but as the day does by, I find you need to reapply at the corners of your mouth and the finish turns slightly matte. It doesn't make my lips feel dry, but I feel like if you had dry patches it would kind of show, but not accentuate it. Overall, if your looking for a hybrid lipstick/lip gloss.. Or in other words, looking for something with the pigmentation of a lip stick but with the comfort of a gloss,  this is for you! They have some pretty pinks, and nudes as well. Overall I give this a 3.5/5 because this isn't a wearable colour for me and I feel like I love my Mac lipsticks better.
