First Impression/Review on L'Oreal Tru Match Lumi Foundation | TheMakeupDiaries

Hello lovelies!! So as you guys know I love my Nars Sheer Glow.. however because it's been so so cold here in Canada, I have gotten even more pale (as I said in an earlier post probably about a whooping 5 shades lighter) so My Nars one didn't match me anymore. So, I scavenged my collection for a lighter foundation and the only one I had was the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation. Except, it was a mini travelsize that came with my How to Look the Best at Everything Benefit kit, so I knew the little mini wouldn't last forever. Not wanting to splurge on another high end foundation, I decided to go with a L'Oreal one after hearing how good they were. Amanda Ensing, who you can watch here, who has a similar skin type/colour as me loves this foundation and talked about it quite a lot and even compared it to her Nars Sheer Glow (Her HG Foundation & mine too!) So I decided why not. It retails for about $14.75 CAD in the drugstore which is pretty expensive for a drugstore foundation but I justified it because I really wanted to try it out and I was desperate for a foundation that matched me. I picked it up in W4, but I was really distressed because it was so hard to see if I was W3 or W4! Oh I hate how you can't test out drugstore foundations. Good thing I got lucky and picked up W4 because its a really good shade match for me. Anyways.. enough with the blabbing.

First Impression:
7:00 a.m- First applied the foundation with ELF Small Stipple brush. Feels lightweight but took a long time to set. Very liquidy but not as liquidy as Nars Sheer Glow. Needed two pumps to cover my entire face. Set it with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as I usually do on my T-Zone. Skin looks good, natural, but the foundation gives it a dewy and radiant look.

12:00 p.m - Looks good but dark hyper pigmentation spots are starting to peep through. it looks super natural but and it looks like my skin is very luminous and super natural but I'm starting to get super oily on my upper and inner nose bridge where my skin hits my glasses. Perhaps its because I'm wearing glasses today.

6:00 p.m: The thing about foundation for me is that I love very dewy, radiant looking foundations and not matte ones, however, dewy and radiant looking foundations usually slip off my face earlier than matte foundations do, but I love the look that dewy foundations give me, that I really don't care. So now, the foundation is pretty much faded, and I reapplied it to see how if it was buildable and holy, it was! It looked like a second layer of skin. My skin feels so refreshed, radiant and natural.

7:30 p.m: After reapplying, my skin still looks amazing and luminous. It honestly looks like second skin, and so natural. I hate how I had to reapply it but my foundation always fades throughout the day as my skin gets oiler than it was at the beginning of the day. But so far so good!

9:15 p.m: Final Update. My skin looks awesome. The foundation feels like second skin and is still looking fresh, radiant and natural which I love. Reapplying it sucked but it was worth it as my skin looked more uplifted and more radiant.

FINAL VERDICT: This foundation is awesome, and for the price I think it's a great dupe for Nars Sheer Glow if your not willing to splurge. The finish it gives is like your skin but better, radiant, natural, glowy, dewy and fresh, which is great for the Winter months when your skin tends to lose moisture and get dry. I would recommend this to everyone except if you have oily skin because it will probably make your oily skin look even more oily. So this foundation gets a 4/5 because I had to reapply it later in the night but other than that the formula, the packaging (THERE IS A PUMP! YES!), and the price are awesome pros for this product. I know I will be enjoying this foundation for a long time!
