Summer Ootd | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi everyone! Yesterday I went to a small birthday party, it was lovely! I'm going to be showing you the outfit I wore as well as a few photos from the party... hope you enjoy:)

Outfit Details: 

Top: Marshalls

Skirt: Forever 21

The top I wore was a simple white lace crop top with flower cutouts. It is so beautiful and very feminine. I wanted a classy yet trendy look so I paired the top with a navy blue origami skirt. Then to finish things off, I wore my black heels. These particular style of heels are very popular right now. I purchased mine from The Bay, but you can find them at JustFab.ca, Aldo, Guess and in a bunch of stores as well as online. I wanted to keep it super simple so I didn't wear any accessories. I just wore some simple pearl earrings and kept a black hair tie on my wrist. 

Maybelline Volume Express Pumped Up Colossal Mascara First Impression/Review

Wow that title is a mouthful. Today I am going to be doing a short first impression/review on Maybelline's Volume Express Pumped Up Colossal Mascara. I've had my eye on this mascara for a long time and I finally have it now! I got the waterproof version of this mascara since it's summer and I desperately wanted a mascara that's gonna stay on my lashes and not smudge/come off easily. I am a huge fan of Maybelline mascara's and I'm happy to say this one didn't disappoint. First of all, the packaging is bold and vibrant... you won't be able to miss it! The mascara wand is really thick and it's absolutely amazing if you love the look of voluminous eyelashes. The shape of the wand is also very nice and it apply's smoothly onto the lashes. The formula is a little dry which was not what I expected but, I think this mascara is one of the best Maybelline mascara's I've ever tried! This mascara held the curl really well and didn't budge throughout the day/night. I definitely would repurchase it! Another great thing about this mascara is that it is extremely buildable and doesn't clump. It also doesn't weigh your lashes down like some mascara's tend to do. Now some of you may be wondering about how you take this mascara off since it is waterproof. When removing waterproof mascara I prefer to use a waterproof eye makeup remover. If you don't have one, makeup removing wipes work as well. You want to keep the wipe on your lashes and gently wipe away the mascara (you may want to repeat this step a few times) Also, make sure you wash your eye area really well so you don't have leftover mascara on your lashes by the time you're done washing your face. Depending on where you live and where you go to buy this product, the price ranges. In my opinion it's definitely worth the money and this product is under $10 which is a plus!

Green eyeshadow makeup tutorial! | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi guys! So as you know summer is fast approaching which means no more quick makeup as we have so much more time on our hands. I was looking at my eyeshadow palettes and realized that the only eyeshadow looks I ever do are neutral and if I change it up a bit, I go for dark but still neutral colours. I own very neutral eyeshadow palettes but some of them include colours like forest greens and smoky purples. I would never use these day to day, but I decided to do a tutorial using the greens in my palettes and show you how you can encorporate a pop of colour into your eyeshadow look whilst staying in your comfort zone!

Disclaimer: I am not a makeup artist in any way, shape or form. This is based on what works for me, and it may not work for you. These steps work for me, but if you want to add in a step or leave out a step that is perfectly fine! Makeup is very personal.

Now on to the tutorial :)))))

Prime your eyelids. This ensures the eyeshadow sticks and lasts all day. I used one UD's eyeshadow primer.

Now, you want to put a very neutral beige base all over your lid to brighten and even out your lid. I used UD's Walk of Shame eyeshadow. Now, get a stiff lid brush (I used the UD Good Karma brush) and pack on a lighter grass green onto your lid. I used the green in the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette. Then as a transition shade, I used UD's Naked 2 in the crease. I took "Peru" from the Sephora In The Tropics Palette and used another stiff lid brush (Good Karma brush that came with the Naked 3) and packed it on my outer lid. I useda soft blending brush to blend these two very different but complimentary greens together. I then took another blending brush and got Faint from the Naked Basics and put that in the crease for more definition and to smoke out the look. Now this is an option but I used a little bit of half Baked from UD's Naked 1, and put that in the middle of my lid for that pop of bronzey-gold. I took the green from the Wet N wild Palette and put that on my lower lashline and added the colour underneath it on the same palette (deep green almost black). 

To complete the look, I used my Maybelline Master Drama eyeliner for winged eyeliner and my Maybelline The Rocket Mascara for very volumized lashes. 

I know this is an eye makeup tutorial but what I recommend to you guys if you are doing this look for a special event is to go light and fresh faced with your face makeup. I would go with a natural and light-medium coverage foundation, little to no concealer, a light sweep of powder, minimal bronzer (but if this is for a formal event I would suggest a strong contour) and a light pink/peace blush. For lips I would go for an everyday natural, your lips but better lipstick however, if this was for a formal event I would go for a pinky-nude lip combo.

Mini Haul Featuring The Body Shop | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi guys!!! Today I made a quick stop to the mall to pick up a few things. As I walked by The Body Shop, I was drawn to an array of eye-catching products. I decided to go in to take a look at a few products but in the end I found myself at the counter purchasing things! Although I didn't buy much, I'm eager to try these products out.

I picked up the strawberry body butter!! I am a huge fan of this product, I believe this is my fourth time purchasing this exact body butter. It's super moisturizing and it leaves my skin super soft. It also smells absolutely amazing. You need to check it out if you haven't already. I also picked up the tea tree skin clearing facial wash. Going into the store I stopped to look at this product first. I wanted to purchase a new cleanser and this one drew me in. I heard a bunch of good things about this cleanser and I thought it was finally time to try it out. I purchased the travel size one just in case I wasn't fond of it. I actually tried it out about an hour ago and I really like it so far. Hopefully it does what it claims and clears up my skin!! The last product I purchased was the seaweed mattifying day cream. This is a product I have been eyeing for quite some time and I'm so excited to try it. I thought it would be perfect for the summer as the weather is getting warmer and warmer. I have oily skin and this helps keep your face matte throughout the day so I think it's going to work out really well for me. Also, I really enjoy the fresh smell. I am soo extremely happy I finally caved in and bought these products.

Hi guys! So I wanted to d a quick outfit of the night. My athletic banquet was a couple of days ago and I never posted an OOTN before so I thought this was the perfect opportunity.
I'm wearing the Ponte Gloria-V Skater Dress in Black from American Apparel which you can find here.
