We ♡ Drugstore Makeup TAG! | TheMakeupDiaries

Hey guys! So today we thought we'd do the drugstore makeup tag created by MakeupByAlli & MakeupbyFran. Oh believe us, we do love us some drugstore makeup! It pretty much started when we started off with makeup at the end of seventh grade and from then on, we still have some Holy Grail products from the good old convenient drugstore. From blushes to concealer to lip glosses, the drugstore has some amazing things (and some products we cannot live without!) in the aisles. We're probably going to keep rambling on and on, so let's get started!

1. What is your favourite drugstore makeup brand overall?

Roshelle: I would definitely have to go with Maybelline. All around, I have the most products from them and they're one of the brands I started off with!

Alyssa: Just like Roshelle, my favourite drugstore makeup brand is Maybelline. Most of my drugstore makeup is from there and I find that all their products are great. Their products are good quality, affordable and have cute packaging.

2. What are your favourite face, cheek, and lip products?

Roshelle: For face, I cannot live without my Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer. I use this to conceal blemishes and for my under eye area as well. For my cheeks, I am obsessed with Milani's baked blush in Luminoso! So beautiful. And for lips, other than my Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey lip balm and some Vaseline, I do love Revlon's super lustrous lip gloss in Kiss Me Coral.

Alyssa: My favourite drugstore face product would be the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder. This powder is longwearing,  lightweight and helps keep your face matte while still looking natural. My favourite cheek product is the Wet And Wild blush in Pearlescent Pink. It's a warm peachy coral shade with settle shimmers. It really warms up the face for a healthy glow. Now for lip products, I can't live without my Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey lip balm and my Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait.

3. Least favourite product?

Roshelle: My least favourite product is hands down, the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream. I was so disappointed! No coverage at all, and the shade selection was terrible. It felt like they just slapped on the name "BB Cream" onto a moisturiser and it did not even out my skin like it claimed it would.

Alyssa: My least favourite product would have to be the Covergirl lipstick Tinted lip balm in Princess. It smelled horrific like chemicals, it wasn't moisterizing and it was not true to colour at all.

4. What is the best makeup bargain?

Roshelle: I would have to say my NYC smooth skin bronzing powder in Sunny. So affordable ($2-3) and a beautiful bronzer! Adds a nice glow to your face without looking muddy.

Alyssa: To me, the best makeup bargain would be any of the elf makeup products. For example, their Studio Powder Brush costs $3 and is similar to brushes from MAC, Sephora and Sigma which you all know are very expensive and sometimes overpriced. This brush is super soft and of course perfect for people looking to find an inexpensive yet good quality brush.

5. What is your favourite underdog product (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)

Roshelle: I absolutely love my Nyx Eyebrow Cake Powder (dark brown/brown: my shade). I know Alyssa got me into this product, and it's one of my favourite products ever! I can't live without it. However, I never really hear too much about it. It doesn't have too much hype built around it through Youtube and on Blogs. But it definitely gets a lot of love from me!

Alyssa: My favourite underdog product has to be the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. This is a two in one product, that is shiny, feels lightweight and is definitely long wearing. I don't hear about this product in Youtube videos that I watch and I just feel like it does indeed get overlooked. It's such a great product ideal for when your on the go when you want something you won't have to keep reapplying throughout the day.

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?

Roshelle: I usually don't buy drugstore products if I think they are overpriced but in general, I think Physicians Formula is pretty pricey for an overall drugstore brand.

Alyssa: I love the brand L'oreal and I'd like to try more products from that brand. When the L'oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation came out in stores I was dying to try it. Up until I saw the price tag. It was $20 for a drugstore foundation and I was really disappointed with how much it cost because I personally wouldn't purchase it for that much.

7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!!

Roshelle: I have three different dupes, call it what you will. I picked the NYC smooth skin bronzing powder in sunny as a dupe for Benefit's hoola bronzer. I also picked my Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner and picked it as a dupe for the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. Lastly, one of the closest dupes, my beloved Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude is very similar to the Tarte Inner Rim Eyeliner in nude.

Alyssa: I will also share three dupes. First the Elf Contouring blush and bronzer and the Nars Orgasm and Laguna duo. The second dupe is Revlon's black cherry lipstick for the MAC Lipstick in Diva.  The last dupe also has to do with lip products and it's Milani's Rose Hip Lipstick as a dupe for MAC's notorious Candy Yum Yum.

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?

Roshelle: These really aren't hyped up as much as they used to be but definitely the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes. Everyone in the youtube community seemed estatic about them, but when I picked it up in the shade Pink Plum, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.

Alyssa: The drugstore product that I don't think is worth the hype would be the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. This mascara is okay but I find that there are better mascara's out there. This mascara doesn't make a huge difference on my lashes as I would like but I know everyone has their own opinion on this product.

So that's our drugstore tag, we hoped you guys enjoyed this tag, and leave a comment down below suggesting some other blog posts you would like to see!

love, r&a x
