Chanel Pefection Lumiere Velvet Foundation Review | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi guys!!! I'm incredibly sorry for the lack of posts lately but with school and everything that this year has thrown at us, it's been close to impossible to get up quality posts. We appreciate you guys sticking with us! Anyways, today I have a review for you guys! I recently picked up the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation. I've been wanting the Vitalumiere Aqua for such a long time, but at the Chanel Counter I went to (in Cancun) they only had my shade (40 beige) in this formula. I wanted to try this one as well, however I was scared because I usually liked my foundations to be radiant and dewy, not matte and velvet (just a personal preference.) Also I decided to try this foundation because my skin has recently become more oily than usual (Thanks Hormones)? Anyways, onto the review!

Fast Facts:

  • You can purchase the foundation here.
  • It retails for about $45 US, so about $53.88 CAD.
  • The line has a limited 9 shades, and generally with Chanel Foundations, they tend to be more lenient to lighter and more yellow/pink undertones.
  • I have the foundation in 40 beige, and it comes with 1 fluid once or 30 ml.
  • It comes with SPF 15, and with the active ingredients: Octinoxate 5%, Titanium Dioxide 3.1%

Chanel Claims: "Perfection has met its matte. Lightweight and oil-free, the unique formula of this fluid foundation provides a long-lasting, matte-velvet finish. Soft-focus pigments smooth and perfect the skin for a flawless look that lasts all day."

Final thoughts: This is my new everyday foundation! I love the matte look (who ever thought I would say that...) This feels perfect for every day, and is a perfect colour match for my somewhat tan skin (thank you mexico!) I apply the product directly on to the brush after I shake it. I apply more foundation where I need it and build it up (it's pretty buildable however after 2 layers, it begins to look cakey..so be careful! whenever I start feeling like it looks cakey I just spritz some Lush Tea Tree Water on.) To cover my scars, I dab the product on rather than blend it onto my skin so that the coverage is more full. This is a light to medium coverage foundation. It looks really good especially if you're skin is oily or combo! I thin i'll enjoy this in the summer as well.

Overall rating: 4/5
