Go to complete look for summer! | TheMakeupDiaries

Hi guys! So today I'm going to be showing you my go to makeup look for the summer. My makeup definitely changes because of how hot it gets during these months and also, I go for a more glowy, and natural look and less is definitely more in the summer! Keep in mind that this isn't my EVERYDAY makeup for summer, this is my go to look when I want to look pulled together, just summer edition! I still wear quite a bit of makeup because unlike during school I have time to work on my face a little more and experiment a little bit but I try to wear not too much as I sweat off my make up super easily. Sorry we haven't been posting lately.. I've been experiencing writers block so if you have any suggestions for some posts, we would love to hear it (sauce us a comment or an email! We love hearing from you guys.) I tried to make this post as detailed as possible, as we're trying to pick up on our tutorials and the quality of our blog posts, over quantity. We also have something VERY EXCITING planned within the upcoming week so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that!

Now onto the tutorial!

First, I primed my face with Maybelline's baby skin. This isn't marketed as a primer, but I use it to blur my pores. It also acts as a good base for my foundation as it smooths out my skin just like a baby!

I then go in with a light, glowy foundation. I opt for a lighter coverage with Maybelline's Dream Wonder Liquid Touch as it is a very light foundation with light coverage allowing my skin to breathe. It dries to a matte/powder finish (I have a full review here) so by using this foundation, you already use less product as you don't need to powder anymore. If I need a little more coverage, I love my Nars Sheer Glow, especially during this time of the month, I love the beautiful natural radiance it gives, and the glow from within (not obnoxiously dewy at all!)

I conceal my under eye circles with Maybelline's fit me concealer. This is a really thin, watery concealer that looks lovely under the eyes. We want a nice brightened under eye area, as it makes you look well rested, and fresh.

Set your face with a setting powder. T-zone is a must, and any areas you need to set.

I would start filling in my eye brows just to frame my face. I decided to go with the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder, as it's super easy to work with and powders stay longer on my brows. Then I start setting my brows and fill in the remaining sparse areas with my Benefit Gimme Brow.

I prime my eyelids to ensure that my eyeshadow sticks and lasts all day. I used the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion.

For eyeshadow, I like to use one of my new favourites! It's one eye shadow but it makes it look like you've spent a lot of time on your eyeshadow when really it's just one eye shadow! I used L'oreal's infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush (which is SO stunning!) You can just pack this onto the lid dry for a subtle look but if you want to amp it up, definitely wet your brush and apply it onto the lids wet. This shadow is stunning! Usually, for day to day, I usually stick to this single eye shadow. However, if you want to amp it up, go for a soft brown like faint from the Naked basics and just blend that into the crease. I took W.O.S from the Naked basics and highlighted my brow bone and inner corners with it.

I used a nude eyeliner from Rimmel (their scandaleyes kohl kajal ones) to make sure my eyes look wide awake. I layered my mascaras today (as per usual). I used Maybelline's The Falsies (waterproof version) first then topped it off with L'oreal's Miss Manga Voluminous mascara for extra volume and impact. If you're willing to go the extra mile, add some black liquid liner. Wing it out for an extra pop. Then on the bottom lash line, drag L'oreal's Amber Rush with a pencil brush. Add mascara to your lower lashes.

Now that you know how dramatic your eyes are looking, you can do your blush and bronzer accordingly. What that means is if your eyes are looking a little more dramatic than usual, you want to tone down your cheeks, and vice versa. I'm not used to wearing so much eye makeup so I go for a more natural cheek.

I try and contour my cheeks a little bit just to define my cheekbones a little bit more and I use the Body Shop's honey bronzer in 03 medium matte, with an eco tools tapered blush brush. Although this brush isn't meant for bronzer, because it's tapered, it fits really well underneath the hollows of my cheeks.

For blush, I like to keep it simple. In the summer, Milani's baked blush in luminoso is just so flattering and gorgeous and is like a subtle highlight and a blush in one. It's the perfect peachy pink shade, perfect for everyday. I use a fluffy Real Techniques blush brush for this.

For lips, it's all up to you whatever you feel comfortable in! I would usually go for something like Nyx's Apple Strudel, Nyx's beige, Revlon's kiss me coral, Mac's impressive/mystical/see sheer. Nothing to outrageous or obnoxious, something that will give your lips a hint of pink or coral. I went for Nyx's Apple Strudel today.

Of course, you don't have to follow these step by step. Makeup is all personal which is why it's so fun, so don't be afraid to switch up different products or skip steps if you want. It's all about what you feel comfortable in!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and it helped you!!! I tried doing my makeup and snapping little photos in between to show you what I was doing. Hopefully it's easy to understand! :) x

If you have any questions, thoughts, posts that you want to see then just shoot us a comment or an email! We'd love to do whatever we can for you guys! Hopefully this post makes up for the lack of posts but stick by until the end of the week because Alyssa and I have something super exciting for you!
