Step 1: Skip foundation and concealer!! By skipping these products, you'll let your skin breathe a sigh of relief since you're taking a break from the heavy makeup. Also, you'll let your bare skin show through. If you feel like you need some coverage, go for a tinted moisturizer or BB cream.
Step 2: I almost never wear foundation and on most days I just sweep powder onto my skin. A powder i use on an everyday basis is Rimmel London's Stay Matte Pressed Powder. This powder is light-weight and keeps your face shine free all day.
Step 3: Apply bronzer to the hollows of your cheek, jawline and temples for a sculpted more defined look. I prefer bronzers with minimal shimmer and NARS' Laguna Bronzer is my favourite.
Step 4: Using a stippling brush and a light hand gently sweep on a cream blush onto the apples of your cheek. I absolutely love this Maybelline Bouncy Blush in Rose Petal. It's a soft peach and gives your cheeks a glowy finish. It also acts as a highlighter.
Step 5: I am a huge fan of neutral brown eyeshadows and during the spring and summer time I especially like bronze eyeshadow looks. One of my favourite looks using the Urban Decay Naked Palette would be..
- Appy Naked, the third shade in the palette all over your lids. It's a matte soft brown and this will act as a base for the rest of the shadows.
- Take Sidecar, the fourth shade in the palette and apply this all over your lid over Naked. Make sure to pack this colour on and blend carefully to avoid fall out.
- To blend everything together take the fifth colour Buck, a matte brown with slight orange tones and sweep this into the crease using windshield wiper motions. This will add definition to your eyes.
- Lastly use Virgin, the first shade and use this to highlight your brow bone.
Step 6: To me, eyeliner can make or break your look. For the spring, I like applying a thin line of black liquid liner onto my eyes/upper lashline. I use the NYC High Definition Eyeliner but, I really want to purchase the Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner.
Step 7: Curl your eyelashes and apply a mascara to your lashes. Currently, I am obsessed with Benefit's They're Real Mascara.
Step 8: Comb out your brows with a spulee or use wax to tame some hairs if necessary. Once your done, use an angled eyeliner brush to fill in your brows with a powder/gel/moose of your choice. My holy grail eyebrow product is the Anastasia Brow Powder in Brunette in this Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes Kit.
Step 9: To complete this spring look, apply a pink lipstick and top if off with a brighter pink gloss to draw attention to your lips. I am loving this lip combo...the YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Lipstick in 29 Opera Rose which I did a first impression/review on topped with Stila's Lip Glaze in Joy.
Step 10: Paint your nails with a pretty spring colour!! This is one of my go-to spring nail polishes!! China Glaze's For Audrey.
Step 11: Last but not least, use a body mist. Make sure the scent is light and not musky. I prefer spring scents to be fresh and fruity or floral. Victoria Secret's PINK Body Mist in Sweet and Flirty is a really good pick for a fresh but not too strong scent.
